New Pre-Trip Training Manual for Commercial Drivers

LOVETTSVILLE, Va.--Former truck driver-turned-author Robert C. Robinson has written a step-by-step manual for the CDL pre-trip inspection in his new book, Commercial Drivers License Pre-Trip Inspection Training Manual: A no nonsense approach to passing the CDL pre-trip inspection on the first try.(published by AuthorHouse).

Based on his years of driving and training experience, Robert has taken all the steps needed and made a systematic guide designed to help the trainee take the inspection in a logical, orderly manner, making sense out of what could easily become chaos. Commercial Drivers License Pre-Trip Inspection Training Manual takes the driver from the beginning to end without confusion about the next step.

As the reader progresses through the steps, he or she will find an in-depth discussion of the various components to be inspected including its purpose and an explanation of the many problems one could find while inspecting their vehicle. These components are highlighted in full-color photographs to help the driver easily and immediately identify them. One example of a component that must to be checked is the shock absorber. Robinson writes:

Shock Absorber

A gas or hydraulic device that stabilizes the vehicle and dampens the ride by converting motion to heat. This is usually accomplished by forcing oil through small internal passages in a tubular housing. By virtue of the purpose for which they were created (primarily to dampen suspension oscillations), shock absorbers respond to motion; their effects, therefore, are most obvious in transient maneuvers.

About the Author: Robert C. Robinson was born in Fairmont, WV, and raised in the small mining community west of Mannington known as “Deep Valley”. He and his wife, Anna, have been married for over 20 years and created a dog rescue in their current hometown of Lovettsville, VA.

Robert works with computers and electronic/pneumatic instrumentation--the bells and whistles that run, control and monitor other bells and whistles.
