Daniels Has First Top Fifteen Finish at the Monster Mile:
Next Stop to see Girl Scouts in Kansas
Dover, DE: Tiff Daniels, driver of the #94 Love's Travel Stops and Country Store/Wide Open Energy Drink Dodge was at the Monster Mile, Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware this weekend in the Sunoco 150 in NASCAR's Camping World Series East. Dover marked the last race for the Camping World Series East.
Daniels started the day off well making long practice runs to get used to the fast, high-banked track. The team did not see any track time during the second practice because they were replacing bad axle seals in the rear end housing as well as making several adjustments to loosen up the car, so the team expected qualifying would not get them where they wanted to be.
Although starting 21st was not ideal, Daniels was confident. Even battling a tight car, she was able to move up through the field. The team made several pit stops throughout the race to attempt to loosen the car, but they were never able to completely fix the handling. Daniels was still able to have a strong 14th place finish with no damage to the car.
"This was a great experience. I was really able to adjust to the track during practice and make a clean run. Running in the East Series has been a great experience and I am thankful for the opportunity with the Drive for Diversity program," said Daniels.
On October 1st, Daniels will be in Kansas City, Kansas at the ARCA RE/MAX Series Kansas Lottery 150 with the Girls Scouts sharing her racing and engineering background. Daniels will be telling the Girls Scouts about her non-traditional job as a race car driver in the Camping World Series East and the ARCA RE/MAX series as well as her work as one of the only female engineers for a Sprint Cup Series team.
Saturday Daniels will be at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA announcing qualifying at the Bailey's 300 with Doc Love and Alan Dietz on Race Talk Radio.
