Geekmobile Tops 200 MPH but is, Unfortunately, Not Street Legal

MINNEAPOLIS--It’s not the usual shape, but the colors and the logo are unmistakable; that’s a Geekmobile getting ready to circle the track at Dover International Speedway. Traveling at speeds that would easily get a Geek Squad Agent fired, Elliott Sadler will represent a force of 20,000 technicians as he runs the AAA 400 in Dover, DE this Sunday, September 27th.

“We thought about the best way to support Elliott,” said Geek Squad Agent Robert Duve. “We offered to install a GPS, but realized that listening to a voice saying ‘turn left. Turn left’ incessantly would get pretty annoying. We thought about putting a TV in the visor, but these cars don’t even have visors, and it seemed kind of dangerous. We decided the best way to show our support was to give him a suped up Geekmobile for the race, and of course, lend our support to the pit crew using all that fancy car analysis software.”

While Geek Squad is exploring ways to bring professional racing technology to the standard Geekmobiles – to speed up responsiveness and ensure that technicians never arrive late – for the moment this will be one race only. A number of Geek Squad Agents will be on hand to watch the race, and other spectators should feel free to ask them questions. They’ll also be staffing Best Buy Live all weekend if you want to stop by and try to stump the geek. They are easily recognized by their black ties, short-sleeve white shirts, black shoes, black pants and white socks.

For help with all your technology needs, call 1.800.GEEK SQUAD to set up an onsite consultation, find a location near you at www.geeksquad.com, or visit the Geek Squad Precinct at Best Buy and other locations to speak with an Agent directly. We provide our services wherever and whenever you need them – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
