Marcos Celebrates 50 Years!

Bradford on Avon, September 25, 2009: One of the most enduring marques, which has become a legend among sports cars, celebrates 50 years in a new pictorial autobiography entitled "Making my Marque" by Jem Marsh, founder of Marcos.
With over 300 photographs, most of them previously unseen, it provides a colourful journey through adversity, excitement and ingenuity, in a business world normally dominated by large corporations.
Jem takes us from his early Austin 7 Specials, right through to international racing success at Le Mans. A unique, first-hand account, this is a very personal and candid tour of a lifetime spent creating stunning cars which always stood out from the crowd. Former British World Champion, Jackie Stewart, started his racing career in a Marcos.
It is a tale of how a British marque was born, manufactured, owned and raced over 50 years and - when the chips were down - how it was kept alive by the determination of one man's instinct to survive.
