Mercedes-Benz Introduces Fixed Price Repairs

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – September 24, 2009: Mercedes-Benz has become the first prestige car manufacturer to offer a fixed price replacement parts and fitting service covering its most popular models, regardless of age.

Called ‘Fixed Price Repairs’ the transparent pricing structure means customers visiting a Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop will now know in advance the cost of parts and fitting for a selection of standard replacement items from wiper blades and brake pads to batteries.

Initially, the new pricing policy will cover the most popular Mercedes-Benz models including all previous and current versions of the A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, CLC-Class and E-Class, as well as the entire smart range past and present. The offer will be extended to other models next year, when additional repair items will also be introduced to the scheme. Pricing relates to each model range with, for example, the replacement of an A-Class rear wiper blade costing £14 and front brake pads for a C-Class just £100, inclusive of VAT, genuine Mercedes-Benz parts and labour.

Mercedes-Benz workshops already offer fixed price servicing, vehicle collection and delivery, loyalty scheme savings for owners of older cars and the convenience of ‘Mercedes-Benz To You’, which provides free vehicle health checks at customers’ homes or work places.

Angela Shepherd, Customer Services Director, Mercedes-Benz UK, believes that the addition of fixed price repairs will further enhance the appeal of the Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop network.

“We want to demonstrate to our customers from the outset of their enquiry just how competitively priced our standard repairs are and to dispel any misconception that these core items might cost more than they think,” explained Angela.

“Fixed pricing provides all the reassurance that they need on pricing and strengthens the benefits of utilising the expertise of a Mercedes-Benz Official Workshop,” she added.

“Only here are owners guaranteed that their cars will be looked after using the latest diagnostic technology and genuine parts, by technicians trained and regularly audited to Mercedes-Benz standards. Mercedes-Benz Official Workshops also offer a host of complimentary services that are unlikely to be available anywhere else, such as service measure updates.”
