Changes Include Debut of Wrigley's Doublemint(R) Gum and COMBOS(R) Shift to Nationwide Series
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J., Sept. 23 -- Mars, Incorporated announced today its 2010 NASCAR paint scheme schedule for the No. 18 Toyota Camry piloted by Kyle Busch in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, which includes the addition of Wrigley's Doublemint gum as another primary sponsor. Mars is also expanding its relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and COMBOS , the Official Cheese Filled Snack of NASCAR, shifting gears to sponsor Kyle Busch and the No. 18 Toyota in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with three paint schemes, replacing the single paint scheme in the 2009 Sprint Cup Series.
Mars brands will serve as the primary sponsor of JGR's No. 18 Toyota in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for 30 points races in 2010, including 23 M&M'S races, three PEDIGREE races, two SNICKERS races and the two inaugural races for Wrigley's Doublemint gum. M&M'S will also be the primary sponsor of the No. 18 during the Bud Shootout and Sprint All-Star Race.
"We're thrilled that Doublemint is joining a group of primary sponsors that already includes some of America's favorite brands, including M&M'S, PEDIGREE, COMBOS and SNICKERS," said J.D. Gibbs, president of JGR. "The line-up for Kyle Busch's No. 18 Toyota Camry rivals that of any team in NASCAR and we are excited to see the signature Doublemint logo on the track."
"When the green flag waves for the No. 18 Doublemint Toyota Camry at Darlington and Bristol, it will bring together three of America's most recognizable brands - Doublemint gum, Kyle Busch and Joe Gibbs Racing," said Paul Chibe, Vice President & General Manager, Wrigley US Gum & Mints. "We're thrilled to be part of the passion that is NASCAR and hope to ride the momentum of the fans' love for the sport, Kyle and their favorite gum into victory lane."
For COMBOS, the brand seized an opportunity to gain additional exposure to compliment its at-track and retail activation by expanding its JGR relationship with Kyle Busch in the Nationwide Series. Kyle Busch's No. 18 Toyota in NASCAR's Nationwide Series is slated to feature a COMBOS paint scheme at Phoenix (April 9, 2010), Dover (May 15, 2010) and Watkins Glen (August 8, 2010).
"We look forward to building on our successful partnership with JGR and Kyle Busch, integrating Wrigley's Doublemint gum into our 2010 lineup, as well as exploring opportunities in the Nationwide Series with our COMBOS brand," said Suzanne Beaudoin, vice president, Sponsorships and Sports Marketing, Mars. "The relationship with JGR and NASCAR has provided Mars' brands with a first-in-class platform to reach 75 million passionate fans, not only driving sales but also engaging the more than 70,000 Mars associates who take pride in seeing our brands on the track all year long."
