NOTES
Martin Truex Jr. and No. 1 Vaseline(r) MEN Team
Dover History: Truex will return to the track that he considers home as
the No. 1 Vaseline(r) MEN team heads to Dover International Speedway
this weekend. He will be making his eighth NSCS start at the one-mile
oval. Truex has an average starting position of 19.4 and an average
finish of 12.7 at the one-mile oval. Truex has had much success at the
Monster Mile with one win, one top-five, and three top-10s under his
belt. Truex's first NSCS victory came at Dover in the spring of 2007.
The win helped catapult the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops team to a spot in the
2007 Chase for the Sprint Cup. The team went on to finish 11th in the
points standings in 2007.
About Loudon: Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker
Boats team started the weekend out strong as they qualified seventh and
posted the second-fastest speeds in both practice sessions on Saturday
at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Truex ran 201 of 300 laps inside the
top-15 and carried an average running position of 12th. However, late
race handling issues and coinciding long green-flag runs would cause
Truex and the No.1 Rain-X Chevy to fall back as low as 23rd. The No. 1
Rain-X team continued to work on their Chevrolet and Truex would make a
late-race push to finish the 300-lap event in 19th position.
Vaseline(r) MEN on the Hood: Unilever, one of the world's largest
consumer products companies, announced on July 23, 2009 that Vaseline(r)
MEN Lotion would be an associate sponsor of Target Chip Ganassi Racing
and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates. As part of that
relationship, Vaseline(r) MEN will be the primary sponsor of the No. 1
Chevrolet driven by Martin Truex Jr. at this weekend's race at Dover
International Raceway on Sept. 27 (ABC, 1:00pm ET) and the Oct. 25 (ABC,
1:00pm ET) race at Martinsville Speedway. (Paint Scheme Art Attached)
Vaseline(r) MEN Display on the Midway at Dover: Vaseline will have an
onsite tent manned by brand ambassadors to help educate NASCAR Fans on
the importance of skin health and Vaseline(r) MEN Lotion at both Dover
and Martinsville. Fans will also be challenged by interactive games at
the display, including a Spinning Wheel of skin health questions and a
Simulated Pit Stop Tire change. The tire changing display is meant to
mimic the 15 seconds that it takes for Vaseline(r) MEN to quickly absorb
into your skin. The display space will be open from 9am - 3pm ET on
Saturday, Sept. 26 and 7:30am - 1:30pm ET on Sunday, Sept. 27.
Driver, Martin Truex Jr. Appearance: Earnhardt Ganassi Racing's Martin
Truex Jr. will make a 15-minute appearance at the Vaseline MEN display
space on the Dover International Speedway midway on Sunday, Sept 27.
The driver will stop by to answer questions from fans at 10:45am ET on
Sunday morning.
Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Makes Donation to Dover Fans: Martin Truex
Jr., driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, a fan
favorite at the Monster Mile, purchased 100 tickets to the AAA 400
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover International Raceway for select
fans unable to renew their September race tickets due to hardships
brought on by the economic downturn or other unforeseen circumstances.
In the Points: After the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Truex and
the No. 1 Chevrolet team remain 24th in the NSCS standings.
Juan Pablo Montoya and No. 42 Polaroid Team
MEDIA ALERT: Juan Pablo Montoya will be available in the media center
for a brief media Q&A session on Friday, Sept. 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Polaroid in Action: Juan Pablo Montoya will be running the No. 42.
Polaroid Chevrolet this weekend in Dover - the fourth of six special
paint schemes planned for the No. 42 this season. This is Polaroid's
second season as an associate sponsor in the Target program. To help
promote his involvement with Polaroid, Montoya can be seen on Sunday
morning venturing among fans to promote Polaroid's new PoGo instant
digital camera and instant mobile printer by taking photos with fans.
Foxsports.com will post these images, as well as ones from Juan Pablo's
entire weekend in a photo diary on both their English and Spanish
websites

Polaroid is best known for pioneering instant photography. Today,
Polaroid has reinvented instant photography with its innovative line of

Dover History: Juan Pablo Montoya will be making his sixth NSCS start
at Dover International Speedway this weekend. He has an average starting
position of 18.2 and an average finishing position of 24.4 in his five
prior NSCS starts. Montoya's best finish of 10th came in the 2007 fall
race at the one-mile oval. He's led three laps and has completed 97% of
the possible laps at Dover; 1939 out of 2000.
About New Hampshire: The No. 42 Target team kicked off the NASCAR Chase
for the Sprint Cup in dominating fashion at New Hampshire. Montoya and
his No. 42 Target Chevrolet were on the top of the board for all three
practice sessions and would lead the field to the green flag for
Sunday's Sylvania 400 by starting on the pole. The Target Chevrolet led
a total of 105 laps and would be in top contention for a win in the
closing laps. Montoya finished third after being held off by Mark Martin
on a late-race double-file restart.
Racking up Awards: The No. 42 Target team's stellar performance at New
Hampshire did not go un-noticed in the racing world. Montoya was
credited with the Coors Light Pole Award, Mobil 1 Command Performance
Driver of the Race, WIX Filters Lap Leader, and Mahle Clevite Engine
Builder of the Race Award. Crew chief Brian Pattie was named the DIRECTV
Crew Chief of the Race.
Moving on up: Montoya became the biggest mover in the point standings
after his third-place finish at New Hampshire. Montoya moved up seven
positions to fourth heading into Dover. 55 points separate him from
point leader Mark Martin.
Easy as One - Two - Three - Four: The NASCAR Sprint Cup, IndyCar and
Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series are all in the stretch runs of their
seasons and Chip Ganassi has four cars competing for three titles as the
racing world prepares to crown its 2009 champions. Scott Dixon is
currently first and Dario Franchitti second in the IndyCar Series point
standings coming into the season finale at Homestead. In the Rolex
Grand-Am Series, Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas are third place in the
title hunt with one race remaining at Homestead. Now with Montoya making
the Chase for the Sprint Cup and sitting fourth in the points, Ganassi
has drivers vying for championships in each series that he participates
in.
100 and Counting: Last weekend Montoya made his 100th career start in
the NSCS. During the 2009 season, Montoya and the Target team have
accumulated two pole awards, three top-fives, 13 top-10 and 17 top-15
finishes. In the 27 Cup races run this season Montoya has earned 21
top-20 finishes. He has led 269 laps and averages a starting position of
12.4 and a finishing position of 13.4 for the season. They have
completed 7619 of out 7636 possible laps (99.8%) this season which ranks
third for active drivers.
