BraunAbility Launches Entervan®XT to Accommodate Needs of Taller Wheelchair and Scooter Users

WINAMAC, Ind.--BraunAbility, the world’s largest manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps and wheelchair lifts, announced today the launch of the Entervan®XT, a new vehicle to accommodate taller customers.

The Entervan®XT offers added convenience and accessibility for the diverse needs of consumers. At 56.5 inches high, the sliding door is a full four inches taller than the standard Entervan model, giving individuals who sit higher in their wheelchairs increased head clearance and visibility. The slope on the entry ramp has also been reduced to make it easier for those in manual wheelchairs to enter the van.

Other features of the Entervan®XT include:

  • Fold-down footrest adds comfort for backseat passengers
  • Lowered floor area allows more room to maneuver the wheelchair with 57 inches from the rear wall to the front seats
  • Step-and-roll front seats are easily removed by stepping on the foot lever and rolling the seat out of the van

“We developed the XT with the understanding that ‘one size does not fit all’ when it comes to consumers’ mobility needs,” said Greg Cook, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BraunAbility. “This is yet another example of our ongoing commitment to providing various mobility options for our diverse customer base.”

The Entervan®XT is now available at dealerships across the country. Visit www.braunability.com for more information and to find a dealer.

About BraunAbility

BraunAbility is the largest manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps, and wheelchair lifts, enabling people with physical disabilities to regain mobility and lead active and independent lives. The Winamac, Indiana-based company was founded by Ralph Braun, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age and unable to walk by age 15. Ralph was motivated by his disability to invent the world’s first electric scooter (the Tri-Wheeler) and wheelchair lift (the Lift-A-Way) in his parents’ garage. Word spread and demand for the product increased, resulting in the birth of Save-A-Step Manufacturing, which ultimately became BraunAbility. Many of Ralph’s best customers were inspired to become mobility dealers themselves, and are located across the country. The company’s flagship products include the Entervan (Chrysler/Dodge) and the Rampvan (Toyota Sienna). For more information, or to find a dealer near you, please visit www.braunability.com.
