GridPoint Named to Global Cleantech 100 List by The Guardian and Cleantech Group

WASHINGTON--GridPoint, Inc., an established leader in smart grid software, today announced at GridWeek 2009 that it has been named to the Global Cleantech 100 by The Guardian and Cleantech Group™. A field of more than 3,500 companies was considered. GridPoint is demonstrating its software solutions this week during the annual gathering of smart grid thought leaders Sept. 21-24 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.

The Global Cleantech 100 is the first-ever list highlighting the most promising private clean technology companies at the forefront of innovation around the world. Supported by the Carbon Trust, the list represents the collective opinion of leading experts from the Cleantech Network, the de facto industry association of international clean technology investors, entrepreneurs, corporations and other industry insiders. These were combined with the specific input of a panel of 35 experts from well-respected organizations such as Altira Group, Crossover Advisors, Deloitte, Emerald Technology Ventures, Google, Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, New York Stock Exchange, NGEN Partners, Nth Power, New Enterprise Associates, Sterling Communications, Tsing Capital and Vantage Point Venture Partners.

For a complete list of the Global Cleantech 100 firms, visit The Guardian at http://www.guardian.co.uk/globalcleantech100 and Cleantech Group at www.cleantech.com/news/awards/globalcleantech100.

“We are honored to be recognized among these innovative companies, and especially pleased to see several smart grid companies represented,” said Peter L. Corsell, CEO, GridPoint. “We look forward to joining our colleagues at GridWeek to discuss the exciting developments in our industry.”
