Golden State Collision Centers, Inc. To Present Free Emergency Extrication Seminar for Local First Responders

YUBA CITY, Calif.--Golden State Collision Centers, Inc., in conjunction with Kent Automotive, Farmer’s Insurance Group and Progressive Insurance, will present emergency extrication training to emergency personnel at 9:00 a.m., September 22, 2009, at the Golden State Collision Center, 996 Klamath Lane, Yuba City, CA.

With advancements in vehicle design, multiple air bags and passenger restraint systems, first responders to an accident need additional training to be most effective at the scene. Additionally, first responders are seeing more and more hybrids at the scene of accidents and need additional training on these high voltage vehicles. Budget cuts have forced emergency personnel departments to limit extrication training to non-hybrid vehicles, or to eliminate extrication training classes altogether. This educational seminar will provide the training necessary for first responders to effectively respond to these high-risk emergency situations.

The seminar will present state of the art training, including the wiring and voltage on Hybrids, as well as working with non-deployed air bags.

“First Responder training on late model cars is more important now more than ever,” said Toby Chess, instructor. Kent Automotive western regional sales manager Craig Olivera added, “The need is here, and we feel it important to sponsor these events. Progressive Insurance and Farmer’s Insurance Group stepped up and donated several vehicles for this training, and Golden State Collision Centers readily agreed to partner with us on this event.”

“We are proud to partner with Kent Automotive in providing this essential training for first responders in the Northern California area,” said Dave Finkelstein, owner of Golden State Collision Centers, Inc. “We truly value the emergency personnel in our area and are thrilled to provide an educational experience that will eventually save lives.”
