Electric Motors Corporation’s CEO Wil Cashen Awarded ‘Key to the City’ of Nappanee

NAPPANEE, Ind.--The key to turning the Northern Indiana economy around could be electric vehicle technology and the man who’s leading that job creation effort was honored with a token of the community’s appreciation.

Wil Cashen, CEO of Electric Motors Corporation (Pink Sheets:EMCO), received a key to the city of Nappanee at Green Jobs for America: A Music, Technology & Fun Festival on September 5th, 2009.

“I’m honored, but I don’t feel I’ve done anything special to deserve this,” says Cashen. “I’m just doing my job, trying to get people back to work.”

Partnering with RV manufacturer Gulf Stream Coach, EMC’s goal is to bring 1,600 new jobs to Elkhart County by 2012, making it by far the largest potential new employer in the area.

“Wil has brought so much hope to the Wa-Nee area and Northern Indiana in the form of job creation,” says Nappanee Mayor Larry Thompson. “This was our way of thanking him for all he’s done. We look forward to the future.”

The Green Jobs for America event, held at Electric Motors’ Wakarusa headquarters, was an opportunity for area businesses to showcase their ‘green’ technologies and educate the public on the jobs they can create.

The Elkhart County community also got a sneak peak of the EMC ‘Flash,’ the first American made light-duty electric pick-up truck. See a picture of it at www.electricmotorsco.com.

The event drew a crowd of about 2,500 people.
