Commercial Vehicle Group Wins New MRAP Vehicle Military Business

NEW ALBANY, Ohio, Sept. 16 -- Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. announced today that it has been selected by a Wisconsin-based military vehicle contractor to continue its participation in that company's latest Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) series vehicle designed for service in Afghanistan.

Commercial Vehicle Group's involvement in the program included development of the prototype vehicle. Moving into the production phase, CVG will supply the contractor with wire harness and cable assemblies, windscreen wiper systems, driver seat components and electrical panel assemblies.

Commercial Vehicle Group will also continue to provide on-site engineering personnel who will work with contractor counterparts to support the assembly line. CVG plans to use five of its North American and one of its European manufacturing facilities to meet the accelerated production schedules required by the current demand contracts. While the total value of these contracts to CVG could vary depending on the contractor's decisions on additional content or manufacturing strategy, CVG estimates the program could represent $7 to $9 million in additional revenue for the initial phases of the program.

The new MRAP is a highly maneuverable armored vehicle that was designed and tested to best protect U.S. armed forces deployed in hostile, non-urban environments such as Afghanistan.

"This contractor has been a significant partner and major CVG customer for a long time. We are pleased they selected us to continue to work with them on this important program. CVG has had employees serve in the areas designated for these vehicles. It brings us great pride to assist in a program that helps protect and serve the men and women who defend our country," stated Mervin Dunn, President and CEO of Commercial Vehicle Group.

Kevin R. L. Frailey, Executive Vice President and General Manager for CVG's Electrical Systems, said, "Among CVG's strengths are its engineering competencies and rapid turnaround capabilities. These combine to make our Company a natural fit for this project with its tight schedules and need for innovative engineering skills. We value our partnership with this contractor and welcome the opportunity to continue to work with them on this and future projects."
