                                                                               J.P. Morgan Believes Road Course 
                                                                       Experience May Be Advantageous At Iowa

CONCORD, N.C. (September 14, 2009) -- J.P. Morgan may have already met one of his goals this season, but in true driver fashion he’s still looking to nab the 2009 USARacing Pro Cup Series [formerly Hooters Pro Cup Series] championship as the circuit heads into the Championship Series' second event at Iowa Speedway. 
	The 33-year-old Morgan said he and his team made a pact at the beginning of the season to consistently run in the top-5. However, after back-to-back fourth-place finishes, which moved him from sixth to fourth in the point standings, Morgan is gaining momentum and looking for a win in the Sept. 19 Iowa 200. 
	“We have to win races from here on out. It takes all the question out of it,�?? Morgan said. 
	With the Iowa 200 only days away, Morgan’s team has to make the most of the time it has left. 
	“The closer you get to the end, your time runs out,�?? Morgan noted. 
	The Charlotte, N.C., resident also isn't forgetting the five bonus points one receives for leading a race or leading at the event's halfway mark can boost him up the standings' ladder.
	“You know, we’re trying with these three races left to make each race give us the maximum that we can get as far as points,�?? Morgan said.  
	Even though Morgan thinks the 0.875-mile Iowa track is one of the more difficult speedways the Pro Cup Series visits, he believes he’s up to the challenge. 
	“You carry a lot of speed going into the corners in comparison to other tracks that we run,�?? Morgan explained. “It’s very critical that you hit your marks. You’re on the gas early and at the same time every time because the corners are so long.�?? 
	From Morgan’s perspective, Iowa is a place where a driver can easily go wrong. 
	“You have to really pay attention to where you’re getting on the gas and carrying as much speed as you can through the corners, being very smooth about it at the same time,�?? Morgan continued when explaining how to get around the track.   
	Even though Morgan is still seeking his first Pro Cup Series victory, he does have a few tricks up his sleeve. Before joining the Pro Cup Series, Morgan was the 2003 Road Course National Champion. 
	“Essentially, it’s a road course, Late Model Stock-type car that you find on any short track throughout the Southeast running the NASCAR-type divisions,�?? Morgan said. 
	Since road-course racing is about being consistent and error-free, Morgan believes his experience could translate into an advantage at Iowa. He plans to try and combine his road-course racing experience with his newly found consistency in the Pro Cup Series to produce a victory. Of course, Morgan admits that luck plays a key role in a championship bid. 
	“If I could find a truck of luck, I’d bring that along to every race track, too,�?? Morgan said.
	The USARacing Pro Cup Series Iowa 200 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 19. On Sept. 18, Iowa Fan Appreciation activities will begin at the speedway at 6 p.m. This will include a tour of two team transporters, a pit stop demonstration, a behind-the-scenes look at tech inspection, and a Q&A session with a driver, crew chief, team owner and transport driver.
