Alvaro Parente had a tough weekend at Monza and, though he was one of the fastest drivers in the Saturday's race, he left the historic Italian circuit empty handed.

The Portuguese driver was one of the stars of the first race, reaching the third place, after starting from seventeenth in a wet track. Alvaro Parente driving was amazing and he was the fastest driver on track for long periods of time.

However, without radio communications in his car, the Ocean Racing Technology driver cut the first chicane once too many to avoid contacts with other drivers and was handed a drive through penalty. "I was attacking everywhere and I was fast, but, during my fight with di Grassi I had to cut the first chicane or we would touch each other. The radio didn't work along all race and I didn't know many times I crossed the chicane. To tell the truth, I didn't even know about the penalty and, when I came in to the drive through, I thought it was to do my pit-stop. Only when the team told me to keep going I understood what was going on", said the driver supported by Delta, TMN, Aurora Group, Geotur and Cision .

Alvaro Parente would ended the first race in the seventh position, a place that would give a good chance of fighting for the first place in today's race. However, the twenty-four years old driver would suffer another penalty - twenty-five seconds to add to his race time - later in the day, something that put him in the eleventh place.

With this result, the Spa-Francorchamps winner just had one solution for the second race of the weekend: to attack. "I think that today race was spoiled by yesterday's result. At Saturday, I did a great race that could give me a podium. But, with two penalties I ended in a disappointed eleventh place. Today, I had to take some risks to get some points. I took my chances, but I lost", said the driver that was fighting for the sixth place with Giedo van der Garde, who won yesterdays race, when he spun.

After the Monza round, Alvaro Parente is already looking ahead and is focused in the last weekend of the season, which will be held at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve. "From this weekend, the only positive thing that we can take is Saturday's good showing. Now, the only thing that matter is the Algarve weekend, where I want to achieve a good result to give to the Portuguese fans", said the driver from Oporto.
