August Sees Audi Grow 56 Months in a Row

ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – September 4, 2009: Audi Australia has finished the month of August 2009 with sales of 1,009 units – now the 56th successive month of growth for the brand Downunder.

The result sees the brand up an incredible 34 percent for the month compared with August 2008 (Aug 2008: 753 units).

With year-to-date sales of 7,563 units, Audi has eclipsed its full year total sales result of 2007 after just eight months. The brand is now 14.6 percent up year-to-date compared with the total passenger car market which is down 14.2 percent.

August also saw the successful opening of the stunning new Audi Lighthouse facility on South Dowling Street in Zetland, Sydney. This major brand statement was officially opened on 20 August 2009 by AUDI AG’s global head of sales and marketing, Peter Schwarzenbauer, and Audi Australia’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann.

“The $50 million Audi Lighthouse is a clear signal to the market, to our dealer network and to our customers that the brand is committed for the long term in Australia,” said Joerg Hofmann.
