USAA Mobilizes Claims Team, Other Resources for Station Fire

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--USAA has mobilized claims employees and other resources to help USAA members affected by the Station Fire in Southern California.

USAA, which provides financial services and insurance to members of the military and their families, has taken the following steps to respond to the Station Fire:

  • Sending a claims team to help members in the affected area. USAA’s claims employees are currently at La Canada High School in La Canada Flintridge, and more are ready to deploy as needed.
  • Placing telephone calls to hundreds of USAA members who live near the fire area to check on their safety and provide support with filing claims.
  • Providing reimbursement for many out-of-pocket costs for individuals who were evacuated from their homes and prohibited from returning to their homes under orders by civil authorities.
  • Deploying a claims response vehicle fully equipped with workstations that provide on-the-spot claims handling for USAA members, including direct deposits into members’ USAA bank accounts. This vehicle is currently at La Canada High School in La Canada Flintridge.

USAA employees have also been mobilized in response to the 49 Fire near Auburn. Several of these claims have already been settled, including some total losses.
