The Runoffs Rookie Program continues in 2009 with two sessions planned over the course of testing. Two time slots are available, each being composed of a 30-minute classroom session, followed by 45 minutes to an hour of on-track time with a mentor. The program is open to any driver coming to the Runoffs for the first time this year and each driver may choose from a late afternoon session on Saturday, Sept 19, or a late morning session on Monday, Sept. 21. Interested participants should contact Jim Dentici at dentici@aol.com or (414) 333-6776.
To cap off a week of testing, SCCA members can take in the 2009 Muscle MilkŪ SCCA Trans-AmŪ Finale. The series will hold two practice sessions on Friday, Sept. 18, with qualifying scheduled for 8 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday, Sept. 19 and the race shortly thereafter, at 1 p.m.
Before 2009 Runoffs officially begins with qualifying on Tuesday, Sept. 22, all members are invited to the Oktoberfest Welcome Party on Monday evening, hosted by the Milwaukee Region. The party will be held on the lawn of the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. Food, beverages and entertainment will all be readily available.
