Ransone Has a Tough Ending at USARacing Pro Cup Series Race
Hampton, VA: Rain caused for serious delay at the Hampton Honor Flight 250 in Hampton, Virginia this weekend forcing the race to start on Sunday and eliminating qualifying. Lucas Ransone driver of the #00 KRG Ford started the race in 5th based on point standings.
The race started well for Ransone making his way through the field. By lap twenty Ransone was running second. On lap fifty-eight Ransone was involved in a minor collision and the car was brought into the pits and got back on the track in 16th.
Ransone continued to move through the field. On lap 79 there was a major accident but he was able to avoid the wreck to hold onto 10th. As the race continued Ransone's car began to get tight as the track cooled off. The crew brought him into the pits to change the tires and try to get the car running smoothly again. On lap 249 a car drove into the back of Ransone causing him to spin out. There was quite a bit of damage to the car but Ransone was still able to finish 10th.
"We had a good car and we are proud of everyone on the team. We did well in the pits but we just can't seem to catch a break," said Ransone.
This is the end of the regular season in the USARacing Pro Cup and Ransone will be moving into the Championship Series on September 5th at Concord Motorsports Park.
