20th August, 2009
After the summer break, the GP2 Series will return next weekend in the streets of Valencia, where Alvaro Parente hopes he may fight again for the top position and attain a good result.
The 2008 edition of the second Spanish round of the championship wasn't a lucky one for the Portuguese youngster, since that he didn't see the chequered flag. However, the circuit designed in the Valencia streets pleases the Ocean Racing Technology driver, who is confident for this year weekend. "I like this circuit, though I had to retire in the last year's first race without fuel in my car, two laps from the end. I hope that we may have a well balanced car for this circuit and that we may fight for the top positions", said the driver supported by Soccerade, Delta, TMN, Aurora Group, Geotur and Cision.
Though he scored a point in the second Hungarian race, at the Hungaroring weekend Alvaro Parente didn't show the pace that he could impose in the previous races. At Valencia, the driver from Oporto is confident that, with his team's help, he can fight for a good result. "At Hungaroring we weren't at the level that we expected, but, nevertheless, we reached the points in the second race.
