Sprint Car Driver Cap HenryTuesday night on "the Next Level", we had a full line-up with two of the brightest young stars in short track racing....one wing and one non-wing....PLUS a very special "surprise guest" in Larry Dixon who called in and spoke with us about the importance of fitness, regardless of your racing program and the trainer who helps keep him in top shape.
"USAC racer turned ARCA driver", Dakoda Armstrong spoke about his new deal with Penske Racing where he will drive for the remainder of the season and through 2010. Another short track driver making a name for himself is Cap Henry, one of the top rookie standouts racing in the F.A.S.T. winged sprint car series. He called in and told us about his "post-high school graduation" summer of 2009. At 17, Henry is leading the "Rookie of the Year" points in three series and is battling to maintain his Top 10 status in the F.A.S.T. points chase as well.
Also on the show, PitFit's Jim Leo works with several IndyCar, Indy Lights, NHRA and USAC drivers every day overseeing their rigorous training schedule. Dakoda Armstrong has been a national champion in both karting and quarter midgets and has racked up several sprint and midget wins in the last two years before getting behind the wheel of the Cunningham Motorsports Dodge Charger.
Cap Henry has been racing go-karts and sprint cars for several years and is one of the hottest shoes to move up into a national sprint car series. He has driven both winged and non-winged sprints and has a great shot at becoming the 2009 Rookie of the Year in multiple series as he continues to place in the top 10 amongst numerous, more experienced drivers.
