Himfr.com Recommends Three Small-displacement Luxury Cars

BEIJING, Aug. 18, 2009 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Himfr.com analyst said that small-size and small displacement will be a trend for luxury cars. At present, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and other brands have introduced their own variety of 3.0L models, as introduced by Himfr as follows.

BMW 1 Series of Special Edition

Both economic E-class models are powered by four- cylinder engine, including the diesel version E200 which features a CDI turbo diesel engine, and the gasoline version E200 with a CGI gasoline engine. Both new E-class are economic in terms of fuel consumption.

Lexus ES240

Lexus just experienced a 30 percent year-on-year fall in sales this March and April, the biggest decline among luxury car brands. According to Himfr's analyst, Lexus' bias towards large displacement is the main reason for the plight in sales. It is reported that in the second half of this year, Lexus will introduce the ES240 model with only 2.4L, available only in the Chinese market.

Lexus ES series uses the same platform as Camry. The configuration for the pre-listing ES240 and ES350 models will be the same, but the models will have a standard edition and a deluxe edition to offer. The main differences are panoramic sunroof and DVD navigation system, Mark Levinson stereo system and others.

The Lexus ES Series is positioned as Lexus's entry-level series. In the first half of the year, while Lexus' sales in China fell sharply, the performance for Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and other competitors were noticable. Himfr's analysts believe that the market for the RMB500,000 league mainly belongs to Benz, BMW and Audi, while there is a huge gap in the RMB300,000- 400,000 automobile market. The introduction of Lexus ES240 is likely to cut the price range directly that will take the opportunity to dominate a market segment.
