Strong Run for Martin at Nashville: Wreck ends day early
Nashville, TN: Hal 'the Ragin' Cajun' Martin driver of the #76 Ford was at Nashville Superspeedway in Nashville, TN in the ASA Late Model Series.

Martin started the day by qualifying 7th. The top nine cars were inverted moving Martin to the 3rd position for the start. The race ran in two 50 lap segments. By the end of the first segment Martin was running 5th. The break between segments gave the team time to make improvements on the car. This certainly worked to their advantage with just six laps left to go Martin was running 2nd and gaining on the leader with every lap.

In lap 94 a black flag car was driving too fast on the access road and slid onto the track between turns three and four. Martin swerved to miss the driver and hit the wall. Several other cars were damaged in the chaos. Martin was forced to end the race early and took home a 13th place finish.

"We are very disappointed; we were having such a good run. It was probably a first place car, second at worst," said Martin.

Martin will be running his second ARCA RE/MAX series race of the season at Chicagoland Speedway on August 28th. He will be running with Cunningham Motorsports.
