The 2010 Kia Forte is available with a choice of two engines: a 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder producing 156 hp or a 2.4L DOHC 4-cylinder making 173 hp. 2.0L models are paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission, while transmissions for the 2.4L models each receive another gear. With either engine, Forte drivers can expect plenty of performance and great fuel economy. EPA estimated figures are 25 city/34 hwy mpg for the 2.0L and 23 city/31 hwy for the 2.4L. For even fewer trips to the pump, the Fuel Economy Package (available with EX trim only) adds electronic power steering, a smart alternator, low rolling resistance tires and aerodynamic improvements to achieve 27 city/36 hwy mpg.

On the inside, the Kia Forte is a pleasant place to pass the miles. All trims come standard with Bluetooth hands-free calling and an AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio with SIRIUS satellite radio and iPod connectivity. EX and SX trims add steering wheel mounted controls, cruise control, optional sunroof and available with heated leather seats.

Standard safety features include a 4 wheel anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control and dual front, side and full-curtain airbags. Further peace of mind comes in the form of a low $13,695 base price and Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.
