*Speedco Continues Sponsorship with AJ Frank in Two More Pro Cup Races in
2009*
*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
Troutman, N.C. (August 13, 2009) – AJ Frank is a familiar name around the
USARacing Pro Cup Series garage. In just four starts so far this season,
Frank has three top-five and four top-ten finishes and has been a threat to
win at each of those four events. This stellar performance has earned him a
primary sponsor for two of the four Championship races in the Pro Cup Series
next month. Speedco has signed on to be the sponsor for AJ Frank’s Mac Hill
Motorsports Chevrolet at Concord Speedway and Rockingham Speedway, and
possibly Iowa Speedway.
“I’m thrilled to have Speedco on board. Anytime you can get a corporate
sponsor to a series like the Pro Cup Series, it’s big,” commented Frank. “Ever
since we joined forces with Mac Hill and Speedco, we’ve reeled off three top
- five finishes and we’ve knocked on the door for the win in each of those
races. We look forward to continuing the relationship with Speedco and
hopefully we can get them into Victory Lane by the end of the year.”
Speedco, which has been around the Pro Cup Series and Series Team Owner,
Darrin Odle for years, first came on board with Frank at Lanier National
Speedway back in June. Frank, who had raced with Mac Hill Motorsports for
the last three years, welcomed the new sponsor with a battle for the
win. Although
Frank didn’t get the win, he did get second and impressed Speedco, which led
to another deal as a primary sponsor at Hickory Motor Speedway in July,
where he went on to finish fourth.
“Darren Odle has been very successful in the Series. He became a friend of
mine at the racetrack as a competitor and we’ve gotten to do things together
in the past, but nothing really worked out,” explained Frank. “He has the
Speedco deal every year. Speedco has always been a big sponsor in the
Series and I knew he wasn’t running full time with his team, so I called him
and asked him if he’d be interested. We did the one at Lanier and we ran
well there, so from then on they got the interest to doing some more.”
Frank’s next race with Speedco will be on Saturday, September 5 at Concord
[N.C.] Speedway, which is the first race in the Championship Series. You
can also see all the action from the Concord event on your local FSN station
on Sunday, October 25 at 11:30am.
