Audi CEO Rupert Stadler Chosen as a 2009 Eurostar
INGOLSTADT, GERMANY – August 13, 2009: Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, has received a 2009 Eurostar Award from international trade periodical Automotive News Europe. This year’s awards recognize top European auto executives who have managed to succeed despite the global recession. As Automotive News Europe argues in its official statement: “CEO Rupert Stadler has pushed Audi past its competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz to become the top-selling premium brand in Europe.”
Rupert Stadler expressed his gratitude for this honor, viewing it as an incentive to continue in the same vein: “I’m delighted to receive this award, which at the same time provides us with extra motivation. We’ll defy this recession by continuing to blaze our own trail and pursuing our model initiative at unabated speed.”
According to Automotive News Europe (ANE), the 2009 Eurostars stand out because they have succeeded while their competitors stumbled. The European automotive industry’s top ten executives, adds ANE, have earned their awards through daring, courage, and success.
Automotive News Europe has selected Eurostar award-winners annually since 1998. According to the panel of judges, the award honors the very best executives throughout the automotive industry: from design through sales and marketing to finance or leadership.
