Long Beach California August 11, 2009; It may seem like an SNL skit but at 9:51 AM just as Jim Kelly an executive with Southern California Edison, the area's power company, was about to opine on the value of plug-in electric vehicles at the Plug-in 2009 conference promoting electric as the future's source of vehicle power...the lights went out! SCE says they are aware of the problem but as of yet don't know what happened.

Not only was the Long Beach convention center affected but according to The Auto Channel's Marc Rauch who is heading up our coverage team of journalists and technicians the electric power is also out in the surrounding area...what can be more ironic?
