PLACERVILLE, CA – After a successful event at their Placerville location last month, Round Table Pizza has announced its second “Placerville Speedway Pizza Night?? this coming Tuesday at their Cameron Park location. This great night will bring the family dinner table together with local racing and is all part of Round Table Pizza’s 50th anniversary celebration and Placerville Speedway;s community outreach.
On Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m families can come to the Round Table Pizza at 3370 Coach Lane in Cameron Park (in the Safeway shopping center) and  meet several area race teams and see their cars on display.
The Shingle Springs based Fonseca Motorsports Team of Pete Paulson and Chris Glass will be on hand along with top rookie Pure Stock racer John Hollowhornbear. Both of these teams are sponsored by the Red Hawk Casino, the new title sponsor of Placerville Speedway. The appearances don’t stop there, Pure Stock point leader and former champion Tom Tilford of Citrus Heights will be on hand with his team and car along with the local sprint car team of Justin Johnson who recently finished third in the high profile Tribute to Al Hinds event at Placerville.
Race fans that bring a ticket stub from Placerville Speedway will have their choice on Tuesday night to receive 15 percent off their entire order or receive a free soda with the purchase of their already discounted dinner buffet that is $7.99 for adults and $4.99 for children.
Round Table Pizza is Placerville Speedway’s newest promotional partner in the community. For the last month the company has awarded free personal pizzas to more than one hundred different fans during racing events. Tuesday’s event is another great example of the business community working together with the promoters of Placerville Speedway to promote both auto racing in El Dorado County and business growth in tough economic times.
“This newly formed partnership with Round Table Pizza is just awesome,?? said Bill Sullivan of Handy Racing Promotions Inc, the management team for Placerville Speedway. “It’s not about big high dollar sponsor deals, its about two area businesses working together to promote one another. Racing and pizza goes together great. Round Table offers a great promotional opportunity for us and in turn we offer them a great deal of advertising at our events. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.??
Tuesday night race fans can gather for pizza, salad and great conversation as these three local drivers will be on hand. For youngsters it’s a great opportunity to see these race cars up close and sit in the driver’s seat.
“Our pit area is always open after the races, but sometimes it’s just too late at night for some of the younger kids to visit with their heroes,?? added Sullivan. “We thank Round Table and all of these drivers for putting on another one of these events where racing can come together with family pizza night.??
Tuesday’s event has a second bonus for families choosing to attend. The Cameron Park Round Table is located next to Baskin Robbins Ice Cream and Tuesday night is their “Dollar Scoop Night.?? It’s a great night to come out for pizza, meet some great race car drivers and maybe wrap it up with desert.
“I grew up at Placerville Speedway watching stock car driver Donnie Tilford win races,?? added Sullivan. “If I ever had the chance to have pizza and maybe ice cream with him back then, I would never forget it. So come out and meet his nephew Tom Tilford, the latest generation of champions, and some of his colleagues to make it a night the kids will remember.??
Tuesday’s event will begin at 5 p.m and will conclude at 8 p.m. Round Table Pizza is located at 3370 Coach Lane in Cameron Park.
