TRACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS STANDINGS.

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, August 06, 2009) - The next eight weeks will be
interesting to watch in the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track
National Championship standings. The reason why is that many of the
competitors will be reaching the 14 race plateau which will give each of
them a more accurate point average. But for now, the top-three in the
standings over the last month have held on to their positions.
Jeff Matthews enjoyed a well deserved break this past weekend. In fact, he
will enjoy another weekend off as East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will be
hosting the "Redneck Smash-A-Rama" this Saturday night. But, he still has
the highest overall with an average of 2.8992. He also is enjoying a
145-point lead in the standings at East Bay.
Jeremy Miller of Madison International Speedway in Oregon, WI continues in
his second spot with a point average of 2.8441. This past Friday night,
Miller finished third in the feature event that was won by Bobby Wilberg.
Miller currently has a 97-point lead over Zach Riddle in the standings.
Wilberg is only 100 points behind Miller.
Clint LaFont is third overall but leads the West Region standings with a
point average of 2.7573. The Thunderhill Raceway, in Kyle, TX, competitor
will be back in action this Saturday night with Shawn Paul Lehman on his
tail. But, sitting in third and who won the recent feature at Thunderhill
is Chase Stapp, the brother of 2008 Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member
Track Champion Cary Stapp.
"I love this time of the year because the racing action at the ASA Member
Tracks are heating up," Dennis Huth, ASA President stated. "With our 14
event requirement, some fans will get a bonus with their weekly admission as
some tracks will have double features on some nights to ensure their
competitors reach the 14 event plateau. If you haven't been to an ASA
Member Track this season, now is the time to go."

only sanctioning body to offer insurance coverage which extends beyond the
boundary of the racetrack itself (complete details are available online at
