WIX Challenge Award Goes To Pole-Race Winner
WIX Challenge Award Creates Extra Cash For Pole-Race Winner
CONCORD, N.C. (August 6, 2009) – A new program known as the WIX Challenge Award will bring an extraordinary twist to the USARacing Pro Cup Series championship races that begin Sept. 5 at Concord [N.C.] Speedway, it was announced Thursday by Managing Partner Larry Camp.
Under the program, sponsored by WIX Filters, the pole winner will receive a $5,000 bonus if he also wins the race. If the performance bonus goes unclaimed at Concord, it will roll over to the next event at Iowa Speedway and be added to the $5,000 for that event. That means the pole winner at Iowa would receive $10,000 if he also won the race. The bonus will continue to roll over to the next event until it is won. Therefore, if no one has claimed the bonus by the time the season finale is held Oct. 31 at South Boston, Va., the pole winner would be eligible for a $20,000 bonus. If no driver wins from the pole in the four championship races, the $20,000 bonus will be awarded to the 2009 series champion."
