Las Vegas, August 5, 2009: With the integration of a complete exposition, live indoor and outdoor racing and the ability for manufacturers and distributors to present real life production demonstrations, PKE2010 is adding education as a key attendance motivator for Friday, February 5, 2010.

With the combination of the room offered by the South Point Hotel’s exhibition center, AiM Sports, the World Leader in Data Acquisition for karting and other motorsports has committed to not only exhibiting at the show but to offering free seminars covering the in-depth use of the company’s highly successful MyChron product line.

According to Josh Hanrahan, “Roger Caddell, who heads up our data seminars, will do a class room training session analyzing real kart data. The emphasis here will be to build familiarity with the software and to teach users how to practically apply the data.” Josh added, “On Saturday, the MyChron team will head out to the test track and assist all of those individuals that attended the seminar on the first day by going over their data with them and helping to answer any questions that may have been missed.”

AiM Sports’ MyChron product series is one of the leading data acquisition systems for karts and Bandoleros. The company plans to introduce a number of new products and capabilities during the show, including the all new SmartyCam…a digital video camera and recorder with real-time data overlay, GPS, and much more.

Introductory Driving School Sessions

Alan Rudolph, Vice President and General Manager of the Bondurant SuperKart School will be offering a FREE introductory session on Friday. Rudolph described the program as being a two part immersive session that starts in a classroom setting with audiovisual supported lessons and then the class will head outside to see live demonstrations by the school’s top instructors as they take the theories from the classroom and apply them to the challenges of a real sprint course.

Rudolph said, “This is a wonderful way for someone new to karting to get the right information about safety, race etiquette and the principles of a kart’s design. We’ll cover things like the geometry of a turn, the use of the driver’s weight and how important patience is in competition.”

Indoor Vs. Outdoor, How Skills from Both Can Benefit All Competitors This will be a panel-based session with representatives from both sides of the debate. PKE2010 will have drivers, track owners and manufacturers discuss the obvious differences as well as the similarities of competitive driving on indoor and outdoor tracks. Tom Godfrey, founder of the Indoor Kart Racing League said, “This will be a lively discussion as each market has assumptions and opinions on which format is better. But in reality, there is a great deal to be learned in both forms of racing. Indoor might be slower, but the courses are much tighter and traffic is much more condensed. We also have an unforgiving surface and tires that do not offer the same grip options that outdoor drivers get.”

The timing of this session will be especially interesting since Friday evening offers the first Indoor Karting Mini-Enduro where the top 12 three-person teams from 48 entries will compete in a 180 lap race on a custom designed 31,000 square foot track.

PKE2010 is the largest performance karting exposition in North America. Scheduled for February 5-7, 2010 at the South Point Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip, this will be the only pure karting event with a full exhibit floor, indoor and outdoor live racing and the largest karting buy and sell swap ever held. The website is www.pke2010.com and is now accepting indoor team registrations, exhibitor reservations and hotel accommodations.
