Automotive News to Host Free Online Access Week - THE AUTO CHANNEL HAS ALWAYS HAD FREE ACCESS
![]() |
EDITOR'S NOTE: Since even before our official launch on the Internet in January 1996, TheAutoChannel.com
has been completely free of all access fees and subscription costs. We have always provided the most complete and
comprehensive automotive information, and will continue to do so, in text, audio and video.
Our policy to provide vehicle pricing information for free changed the way that Internet late comers like Edmunds.com tried to do business on the web,
but there are still some holdouts that think that they have something special to offer. They don't...at least nothing special compared to
what we offer. Favorable content on TheAutoChannel.com is not dependent upon how many pages of advertising a manufacturer buys, and negative content is not
a penalty for those that don't buy advertising. We call it like we see it, and often offer several different perspectives from
a variety of contributors to give a good balance. We also don't look upon our audience as sales leads for car dealers, and
don't try to screw consumers with used vehicle evaluations that favor those car dealers that buy a license to use our name. The Auto Channel
is the trusted information resource, don't let anyone else kid you. We're not afraid or embarrassed to cover what other automotive media outlets are doing, and don't try
to hide our heads in the sand pretending that there are not others out there. This is why we have stood the test of time and remain
free, independent and have never pissed away one dollar of an investor's hard-earned money in search of a workable business model.
