WOLFSBURG, GERMANY – August 5, 2009: Volkswagen Group of America is the main sponsor of the symposium on “Mobility 2030: Transportation Technologies & Lifestyle of the Future” organized by the German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC). At the event which takes place in San Francisco on August 18, international experts will present future scenarios for the year 2030 in the fields of politics, energy, technology, transport and lifestyle.

"The global financial crisis, climate change, high population growth and ever scarcer resources all clearly demonstrate that the world is in a phase of transition. Over the coming years it will become increasingly important for society to seek out new approaches in industries such as transportation and sectors such as energy and technology," commented Wolfgang Müller-Pietralla, Head of Trend and Future Research at the Volkswagen Group, who will be presenting new analyses and findings at the symposium. Given these challenges, GACC, California Branch, decided to devote a one-day event to the issues. The moderator is V. John White, Executive Director, Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies (CEERT) in Sacramento.
