GM Canada July 2009 Sales Results

PHOTO

OSHAWA, ONTARIO August 4, 2009; For July 2009, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered 19,663 units, down 41.9% from a year ago.

"Our July performance is mainly attributed to reduced vehicle inventory levels at our GM dealers across the country," says Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service and marketing. "As we rebuild our inventory levels in August, customers will get the GM vehicle they want with many new exciting models arriving at dealerships this summer. Some of our newly launched vehicles include the next generation Chevrolet Equinox, the all new 2010 Buick Allure, the 2010 GMC Terrain and the highly-anticipated 2010 Cadillac SRX. These new models all deliver fuel efficiency improvements and outstanding performance and design."

July Sales Highlights

- The next generation Chevrolet Equinox which delivers the best highway fuel consumption of any vehicle in its segment, arrived in dealerships this month and posted strong initial sales

- Sales momentum continues for the all new 2010 Camaro and as a result, over-time shifts have been added at the Oshawa Car Plant to keep up with growing demand
