Edmunds.com Reorganizes Industry Analysis Department
SANTA MONICA, Calif.--Edmunds.com, an online resource for automotive information, today announces a reorganization of its industry analysis department.
Effective immediately, Jessica Caldwell is promoted to Director of Pricing and Industry Analysis for Edmunds.com, reporting to Vice President Jane Liu, PhD. Ms. Caldwell has been with the company since July 2006, having come from Subaru's product planning department where she served as the Car Line Manager for Forester. Earlier in her career, she was a product strategy specialist for Mitsubishi and worked in the dealership real estate division of Toyota Motor Sales, USA.
Concurrently, Michelle Krebs, veteran automotive industry reporter, is promoted to Senior Analyst, also reporting to Dr. Liu. Ms. Krebs will apply her award-winning writing skills, industry expertise and established relationships to analyze automotive trends for Edmunds’ AutoObserver.com. Before joining Edmunds.com in January 2007, Ms. Krebs reported on the industry for The New York Times, the Detroit Free Press, Parade, Motor Trend and AutoWeek, and was a staff writer for Automotive News. In addition, she was an Adjunct Professor of Business at Detroit's College for Creative Studies and has served as president of the Automotive Press Association in Detroit.
In their new roles, Ms. Caldwell and Ms. Krebs will continue to serve as leading spokespeople for the company. Many of the team’s other analysts will also be supported by PhDs, statisticians and other data experts behind the scenes in order to impart data and insights for media and industry needs.
“Having provided forecasts, True Cost of IncentivesSM reports, sales day commentary and trend analysis for nearly a decade, the Edmunds.com data team is a well-oiled machine,” stated Edmunds.com CEO Jeremy Anwyl. “The contributions of its large staff serve as the foundation of our company, and this departmental reorganization allows us to continue building on its success.”
Edmunds.com is searching for a senior economics expert to further expand the team’s analytical capabilities.
Jesse Toprak has left the company to pursue other interests. Mr. Toprak joined Edmunds.com in 2000 after working in the Finance and Insurance office of Marina Del Rey Toyota.
“Jesse rose to become a well-known voice of Edmunds.com data and analysis,” commented Dr. Liu. “We wish him well as he moves on.”
