DOVER, July 30, 2009: Miss America 2009 Katie Stam will perform the national anthem prior to the “Sunoco 150” NASCAR Camping World Series East race at Dover International Speedway on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009. The race – the East Series season finale for NASCAR’s top developmental series – will take the green flag at 4:45 p.m. following a full day of on-track NASCAR events at the Monster Mile, including NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying.

Following her day at the races, Stam will participate in the “Budweiser Celebrity Billiards Shootout” at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. The nine-ball billiards tournament features a mix of NASCAR drivers and personalities and has been a huge hit amongst race fans. Stam will take a shot at capturing the $10,000 prize for her charity of choice. The shootout is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Rollins Center in the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, adjacent to Dover International Speedway. Ticket information will be announced soon on DoverSpeedway.com.

Stam continues to travel the country on a national tour promoting her passion for volunteerism and The Miss America Organization. Stam grew up as a small-town girl on her family’s farm and long before becoming Miss America she actively promoted community service. During her year as Miss America, she has focused much of her attention on the military and has visited troops abroad to thank them for their service.

Prior to the race, fans can meet all of the drivers in the NASCAR Camping World Series during a special autograph session on Friday, Sept. 25 from 2–2:30 p.m. in the FanZone outside of Turn 4 at the track. Autographs are on a first-come, first-served basis, and fans are asked to arrive early.

The Sunoco 150 is the first big race of the Sept. 25-27, 2009 weekend featuring three events chock-full of championship implications. For the drivers atop the point standings in the NASCAR Camping World Series, it’s one last chance to make a run at the championship crown. For those outside of the title hunt, it’s a great opportunity to steal the monster trophy on the series’ fastest track. Regardless of the outcome, one driver will leave Dover with the East Series championship trophy in hand.

The Sunday, Sept. 27 NASCAR Sprint Cup race marks the second of ten races in the “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.” As the 12 Chase drivers look ahead to Dover, they will hope to either keep their momentum going or kick start their championship campaign if they stumbled out of the gate. Neither is an easy task to accomplish on the high banks of the Monster Mile.

The Saturday, Sept. 26 NASCAR Nationwide Series race also falls within the final few races for NASCAR’s No. 2 series. With a mix of NASCAR Sprint Cup stars and series regulars battling for the monster trophy, the 200-mile race will feature a fierce battle amongst the top names in the series.

Tickets are now on sale for the entire Sept. 25-27, 2009 race weekend, and great seats still remain for all three days. For tickets, call 800-441-RACE or visit DoverSpeedway.com.
