O’Neil & Associates Part of Winning Team for the M-ATV Program

MIAMISBURG, Ohio--O'Neil & Associates, Inc. announced they are being awarded a multimillion dollar subcontract from Oshkosh Corporation for integrated logistics support services on the MRAP All Terrain Vehicles (M-ATV) program. On June 30, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) awarded Oshkosh Corporation the M-ATV contract, initially valued at $1.1 billion.

“Oshkosh clearly offers the best vehicle for the M-ATV’s mission. We are pleased that Oshkosh has chosen O’Neil to help them provide our Armed Forces with the best possible product support for that vehicle,” said Bob Heilman, O’Neil’s President and CEO.

O’Neil’s support for the M-ATV program will include a thorough set of military-format technical manuals. The manuals will cover operating instructions, an extensive range of maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, battle damage assessment and repair information, and a thorough listing of service and repair parts. O’Neil will also perform maintenance planning analysis and Government spare parts provisioning documentation.

Because the M-ATV is a high-priority, accelerated acquisition program, plans call for M-ATVs to be fielded yet this year. The first fielded vehicles will be supported by a set of commercial-format manuals. O’Neil also developed these M-ATV commercial publications prior to the official contract award.

“Oshkosh knows the value of being able to support their product from day one of deployment. They made the strategic decision and investment to provide commercial manuals that met warfighters’ basic needs from the start. It was a smart move on their part and it will help propel this program to success,” Heilman continued.

The first Government-format manuals will be delivered next spring. The M-ATV program uses an accelerated schedule. That shaves months off the typical time needed to prepare similar manuals.

Julie Norton, Director of O’Neil’s Oshkosh Regional Office, said, “It’s certainly an aggressive schedule, but we have the team and support from Oshkosh in place to make it happen. After all, it’s what the Government needs to sustain our forces in Afghanistan.”

O’Neil develops, delivers, integrates, and analyzes product support information including Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Web-Based Environments, Intrusive Diagnostic Systems, e-Learning, training, Content Management Systems, and traditional paper manuals for a wide range of clients in the commercial and government markets they serve.
