Charles Carpenter Racing Update

DMP Awnings & Charles Carpenter Racing team up for unique awning
giveaway

(7-30-2009) CHARLOTTE, NC – Charles Carpenter Racing has teamed with
DMP Awnings, a division of Minnesota-based Dubbin Motorsports
Products, and Drag Illustrated Magazine to bring both racers and race
fans a unique opportunity to win a custom awning for their race
trailer and benefit Charles Carpenter Racing at the same time.

Now through the end of August, racers and fans who purchase a $20
digital raffle ticket online via PayPal will be entered into a random
drawing to win a complete DMP Awning system that is custom-built to
fit their stacker trailer. The awning is being donated by DMP and all
proceeds from the raffle tickets will go directly to help Charles
Carpenter Racing continue to rebuild their Pro Nitrous ’55 Chevy after
a devastating crash in March nearly ended their season.

“I’m really excited about this opportunity for everyone involved,”
said Carpenter. “This was a great idea that Dean Dubbin, owner of DMP,
came up with. Dean contacted Wyatt Haldin from Drag Illustrated and
said he wanted to help us out somehow, and this is what they put
together. I am just completely humbled by the generosity shown by Dean
to donate the awning for the raffle and by Wyatt and everyone at Drag
Illustrated to help promote what we’re doing.”

“It’s a win-win situation,” Carpenter continued. “Someone out there
will end up with a premium awning system valued at over $4,000 for the
price of a $20 raffle ticket, and their generosity from the ticket
purchase will help keep us going so we can finish out 2009 and
continue to work on securing the funding to race in 2010 and beyond.”

Dean Dubbin founded DMP Awnings in 1983, and when he’s not out racing
his record-setting Top Dragster, he’s at DMP selling one of most
durable, affordable, and hassle-free awning systems available
anywhere. When Dubbin learned of Carpenter’s misfortune, he
immediately began thinking of ways to get involved.

“I’ve actually never met Charles in person, but if you know anything
about drag racing over the past 20 years you know who he is and what
he means to Pro Mod and drag racing as a whole,” Dubbin added. “He’s
been out there running at the highest level as long as anyone and has
always been one of the ‘good guys’. I’ve never heard anything about
him that wasn’t extremely positive, and when I learned of the wreck
back in March I knew I wanted to help. Hopefully everyone jumps on
this opportunity and we see a lot of success with this promotion.”
