SPORTSOUTH ORIGINALS PRODUCTION SPOTLIGHTS

NASCAR'S KEVIN HARVICK

In My Own Words: Kevin Harvick Debuts Friday, July 31 at 11 p.m. ET on
SportSouth

SportSouth today announced the debut of its next SportSouth Originals
production, In My Own Words: Kevin Harvick, a 30-minute interview
special spotlighting one of the stars on the NASCAR circuit. In My Own
Words: Kevin Harvick chronicles how a blue collar kid from Bakersfield,
California, who began racing go-karts at an early age, developed his
passion for cars into a successful NASCAR career. Harvick discusses the
emotions and challenges he faced in 2001 after he was tabbed as racing
legend Dale Earnhardt's successor following Earnhardt's tragic death,
what it felt like to win his first Sprint Cup Series race just three
weeks later, and the elation of winning the 2007 Daytona 500 by .020
seconds over Mark Martin.

In My Own Words: Kevin Harvick debuts on Friday, July 31 at 11 p.m. ET
and has additional airings on August 1 at 1 p.m. ET, August 2 at 11:30
a.m. ET, August 16 at 7 p.m. ET and August 22 at 7 p.m. ET.

On taking over the Goodwrench Car after Dale Earnhardt's death in 2001

* "There were a lot of things that went into 2001. They gave
me the opportunity to not drive the car, but as a company that's what
RCR (Richard Childress Racing) needed, they needed somebody to fill
those shoes. Not that I would ever fill the shoes, but they needed
somebody to drive the car. They needed somebody to go out and win races.
Fortunately, we were able to do that and the company is where it is
today."

On winning his first race

* "You can't win your first race more than once and to win it
in our third start was something that was a pretty memorable day. I
have to go back and watch it because there are so many things that were
happening and things were happening so fast in the first three weeks of
the season...I always have to wind up doing things in dramatic fashion,
but I think we won the race by about six inches over Jeff
Gordon...Winning that race so fast was something that really held us
together as a race team."

On the emotions that come with racing

* "That's what makes our sport great, is that people get to see
the real emotion and you don't have time to cover that up after the
race. You can control it the best that you can, but you still have that
adrenaline flowing and the emotions are still pretty high."

On winning the 2007 Daytona 500

* "Mark Martin is one of the greatest figures our sport has
ever seen and to be able to win the Daytona 500 racing against him and
just how close it was and everything, how it played out, is pretty neat.
To win our sport's biggest race is something that's an accomplishment
for our organization, but to experience everything that comes with that
and to really understand what the previous Daytona 500 champions are
talking about...everything is different, everything is bigger."
