Match Model Brings Added Spark to Volkswagen Touran Range
MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – July 28, 2009: With the launch of the new Match model, which opens for ordering today, Volkswagen is offering customers more equipment and value for money on its popular and versatile seven-seat compact MPV. Pricing for the Touran Match starts at £19,515 (RRP OTR).
The new addition to the Touran range is based on the SE model and is fitted with £1,600 worth of additional equipment as standard, for just a £500 premium. The key changes are inside where the Match gains a multifunction steering wheel, Multi-Device Interface (MDI) and iPod connectivity, plus the new RNS310 satellite navigation system all standard. Front and rear parking sensors with Park Assist – the sensor-controlled steering aid to assist parallel parking – complete the convenience package.
From the outside, the Match gains new 16-inch ‘Perth’ alloy wheels, a matt finish front grille, smoked lens covers for the front and rear lights and 65 per cent tinted glass from the B-pillar back.
These additional items join the Touran’s already comprehensive list of standard specification which features ABS with Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), front, side and curtain airbags, semi-automatic air conditioning and cruise control.
The Touran Match is available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, and with a standard six-speed manual gearbox. The 1.4-litre TSI 140 PS petrol engine is also available with a seven-speed DSG gearbox while the two 2.0-litre TDI common rail units developing either 140 or 170 PS can be specified with a six-speed DSG transmission. Three variants of Volkswagen’s 1.9-litre TDI 105 PS engine are also available: with or without a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and the more efficient unit fitted to the Touran Match BlueMotion.
