Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Announces New Marketing Team

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – July 27, 2009: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is pleased to announce a number of changes to its sales and marketing team which will take effect shortly.

David George will take over from Steve Reynolds as Head of Marketing for Commercial Vehicles on 1st September. David is currently Head of Learning Services at the Volkswagen Group’s National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes. Prior to this he was National Sales Manager for Audi and he has also held key marketing communications roles in both the Audi and Volkswagen Passenger Car brands. He has been with the Volkswagen Group since 1998.

Steve Reynolds is leaving the UK to take up the position of Vice President of Strategy and Planning for FAW Volkswagen in Changchun, China. He has been with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles since May 2008 and with the Volkswagen Group in the UK for over nine years.

Phil Taylor has been recruited from outside the Volkswagen Group to the new role of Market and Planning Manager and will report directly to David George. He will be working alongside Mark Hopkins who remains Commercial Vehicles Marketing Communications Manager. Owain Price also remains in his current role as Product Marketing Manager.

Simon Elliott, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, commented: ‘I am delighted to welcome David and Phil to the brand. We are currently planning for a very important year in 2010 with launches including our new pick-up, the Amarok.
