TOKYO, JAPAN – July 23, 2009: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd today announced that the “Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery” will open its doors on August 8th. The Gallery will be the central feature of the new Global Headquarters located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, welcoming visitors and customers to share in the Nissan experience.
The first-floor gallery boasts an area four times larger (about 4,000m2) than the previous Nissan Gallery facility located at Higashi Ginza, allowing for more cars to be displayed. There are four themed-zones: “Product Zone” which highlights the newest models available in Japan; “Global Products Zone” which showcases the global product line-up; “Corporate Communications Zone”, featuring the company’s corporate activities; and “Heritage Corridor” that takes visitors back in time through its rich history.
There is the “Nissan Boutique” offering Nissan merchandise for fans; a “Gallery Café” and “Nissan Hall” that can seat up to 600 people.
The Nissan Global Headquarters Gallery can be accessed from Shin-Takashima Station on the Minatomirai line (five-minute walk) or Yokohama Station (seven-minute walk), which is linked via the newly constructed “Hama Mirai Walk” with the “Nissan Walk” cutting through the HQ building towards Minatomirai.*
The official inauguration of the Gallery is scheduled on Saturday, August 8th, from 10:00a.m. To celebrate its opening, the first 2,000 visitors will receive a commemorative souvenir. Live coverage of the opening by FM Yokohama will be broadcasted at 1:00p.m.
