Allstate Challenges Indianapolis Teens with Distracted Driving Course
NASCAR Driver Elliott Sadler to Give Teens Safe Driving Advice WHAT: To help save teen lives, the Allstate Insurance Company is bringing a distracted driving course to Indianapolis for local teens to navigate. A select group of Indianapolis-area teens will drive through the course, trying to avoid obstacles and focus on the road, while learning first-hand the dangers of distracted driving, including talking on the phone or eating while driving. Media are invited to experience the effects of distracted driving. Interviews with professional driving instructors and students also will be available. WHEN: Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler will be available for interviews from 2-3 p.m. WHERE: Lucas Oil Stadium 500 South Capitol Ave Indianapolis, IN 46225 (Enter stadium's South Parking Lot at Gate 7 on Capitol Avenue) WHY: Car crashes are the No. 1 killer of American teens, with nearly 5,000 teens killed and 300,000 injured annually. The primary cause of fatal teen crashes is driver error (77 percent).
