Keith Steele TORC Race Report - Bark River

Steele Continues Monster Performance ? Makes it Four Straight in Limited 2
Two Top-10 finishes in PRO-2WD as well

Madison, WI (July 15, 2009) - In a nearly identical performance from
the Spring Crandon Run, Keith Steele sweeps the weekend of racing in
TORC Sportsman Limited 2 truck division, and then bolts on a set of
Kumho Project tires to come home with two Top-10 finishes in the
PRO-2WD category. Over the years, there have been buggy drivers
competing in two different race division with the same vehicle, but
not in the truck classes, and not with this level of success.

After dominating the TORC Sportsman Limited 2 truck division so far
this year, Keith Steele and his #29 Monster Energy Kumho Tire Chevy
have a commanding lead for the Championship trophy. Meanwhile, the
same Monster Energy Chevy is eleventh out of nineteen PRO-2WD racers,
even after missing two rounds of racing.  The team?s best PRO-2WD
finish this year has been sixth and the worst, ninth. In all six
rounds, Keith has taken the checkered flag, no DNFs.

?Some people ask me how are you able to run both classes,? remarks
Keith Steele. ?It all comes down to preparation and knowing your
limitations. I know I can?t really compete with the top PRO-2WD guys
with my restricted motor, but I know if I can stay out of trouble and
make it to the mandatory yellow still on the lead lap, I can make a
little noise with my driving. So far this year, it?s worked out well
for Steele Off-Road and this Monster Energy Kumho Tire truck.?

In 2008, Keith dominated the Limited 2 division, formerly known as
Super Truck or Sportsman 2, in which he won the championship and was
names SRT Driver of the Year. These are titles he hopes to win in the
Professional ranks one day as well.

?Our funding is limited this year, all the changes and turmoil that
went on in the off-season really hurt our race program. We are working
with current partners and have hired an agent in an effort to keep our
team funded so we can continue to race in 2009 and beyond.?

You watch all the TORC PRO truck action this Sunday July 19, 11:30am
eastern on ESPN 2.

The next race for Steele Off-Road Racing is the Sportsman Traxxas TORC
Series presented by AMSOIL ? is July 24-25, at the Oshkosh Speedzone
in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

?Only two rounds of racing for us at Oshkosh, what will we do with all
our extra time?? exclaimed the always busy Team Coordinator, Izzy
Steele.

Keith Steele would like to thank all its product supporters, including:
J & H Transmission, Yank Torque Converters, K & N Filters, Howe
Performance, Wolverine Performance, and Phil?s Inc.

Keith Steele and his Steele Off-Road Race Team still have marketing
opportunities available for the 2009 Traxxas Off-Road Championship
Series presented by AMSOIL. Interested parties can email Izzy Steele:
