Bluegrass Motorsports Park Trans-Am Event Cancelled

WATKINS GLEN, July 11, 2009: The Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am Series announced today that its Round Seven race, scheduled to be run Sept 5-6 at Bluegrass Motorsports Park, has been cancelled.

The race cancelation is due to the fact that the track is still under construction and it will not be finished by September. The scheduled event was to be sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing

“The Trans-Am Series and Bluegrass Motorsports Park has mutually agreed that it is in the best interest of all involved not to hold the event in 2009,” Trans-Am Series Manager Randy Hembrey said. “This is unfortunate because the Trans-Am competitors we’re looking forward to running in the inaugural pro race held at this facility. Bluegrass definitely remains on our radar and we are looking forward to future races there.”

The Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am Series is at Watkins Glen International this weekend for the penultimate round, with the season finale set for Sept 19-20 at Road America.
