Blackdog Speed Shop to Sponsor World Challenge GT at Autobahn

TOPEKA, July 10, 2009: Veteran SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT competitor Blackdog Speed Shop has been announced as the presenting sponsor for Round Six of the Championship. The SPEED World Challenge GT Grand Prix at Autobahn Country Club Presented by Blackdog Speed Shop will be held July 24 – 26, as part of the Harrah’s Autobahn Grand Prix Presented by Mazda weekend.

Located in Lincolnshire, Ill., just an hour’s drive from Autobahn Country Club, in Joliet, Ill., Blackdog Speed Shop is pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor their home race.

“This is a great opportunity for us to get our name out in the community,” Blackdog Speed Shop owner and driver of the No. 34 Blackdog Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Tony Gaples said. “We take care of everything from street car upgrades to full-blown race cars. Having Autobahn so close to Chicago helps us build on our client base and this upcoming race weekend will give us a chance to showcase what Blackdog Speed Shop is capable of.”

The event marks the series first trip to the 21-turn, 3.56-mile Autobahn Country Club. The Harrah’s Autobahn Grand Prix Presented by Mazda is the first professional race weekend for the track, which opened in 2005.
