Civil War Series to hit Petaluma Friday night

Civil War Series returns to Petaluma for special Friday night event

PETALUMA , CA – The Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Race Series will return to action this week, appearing Friday night at Petaluma Speedway on the Sonoma-Marin County Fairgrounds. This event marks the second appearance of the year at Petaluma Speedway and is the fifth round of the traveling series for 360 cubic inch powered sprint cars. 
            Entering Friday’s event, defending series champion Sean Becker of Sacramento leads the point standings. Becker is a two time winner of the series in 2009 and now holds a 16-point advantage over previous leader, Herman Klein of Sacramento . 
            Chico resident Stephen Allard is currently third in the point standings and is tied with Rohnert Park’s Brett Rollag who is a regular at Petaluma Speedway along with Matt Sargent, currently fifth in the point standings 
            Four time series champion Andy Forsberg of Auburn is sixth in the standings and is trailed by Chad Compton, Myles Bishop, Jimmy Trulli and Chad Compton. In addition to the Civil War top runners look for many of Petaluma Speedway regulars to be in action including weekly series point leader and defending champion Alissa Geving of Penngrove, Bradley Terrell of Sebastapol, former champion Art McCarthy, local competitors Camron Mendes and Roberto Kirby and many more. 
            Action will being at 6:30 with qualifying on Friday night followed by heat races and feature events. Following Friday’s event the next round of the Civil War Series will take place on Wednesday, July 22 for another Wild Winged Wednesday at Placerville Speedway.
