PLACERVILLE, CA – The 2009 Red Hawk Casino championship racing season will be represented in patriotic fashion this Saturday, July Fourth at the annual Independence Day Parade in Pollock Pines. 
This annual holiday celebration is one of El Dorado County’s largest parades as spectators from throughout El Dorado County flock to the sides of Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines to begin their annual holiday in a tradition fashion that has Small Town USA written all over it. 
Placerville sprint car driver James Sweeney will be one of the entries representing El Dorado County ’s oldest and only professional spectator sport. Sweeney will be joined by Placerville Stock car driver Forryst Carnett as well along with safety support and pace vehicles from Placerville Speedway. Saturday’s event is slated to being at 11:30 a.m on Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines. 
Placerville Speedway is promoted by Handy Racing Promotions and sanctioned by the American Speed Association (ASA). Handy Racing Promotions Inc. believes in community support such as events like this. Without the support of the community, auto racing would not be as strong as it is in El Dorado County . 
Following Saturday’s event, race fans and families are invited to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds for the US Army Race for Freedom at Placerville Speedway. Three division of racing will be on hand for an exciting night of action that will conclude with a giant fireworks display. The US Army is bringing much fanfare to the event with various kids activities, complimentary American Flags for fans and much more. 
The front gates to Placerville Speedway will open at 4 p.m. on Saturday followed by qualifying at 5:30 . Admission to the speedway will be $15 for adults, $10 for juniors. On this special night all children under 12 are admitted for free.  In addition to the racing events, the El Dorado County Fairground will present the annual “Family Blast�?? featuring live music and a number of activities throughout the late afternoon into the evening.
