SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – July 1, 2009: Citroën’s continuing drive to raise vehicle safety standards has been officially recognised, with the Company being awarded the Best Vehicle Manufacturer honour at the 2009 Brake Fleet Safety Forum Awards. Brake, a leading road safety charity, holds the awards to recognise companies that show excellence in working to reduce road casualties.

Citroën offers a wide range of innovative safety technology including the Company’s lauded lane departure warning system, directional headlamps, laminated safety glass, fixed-hub steering-wheel with special torso-shaped airbag as well as the revolutionary active bonnet system and head-up display fitted on the C6.

On top of that Citroën drivers can enjoy high levels of conventional safety equipment, such as electronic stability programme, advanced traction control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution and emergency braking assistance together with a reinforced cabin structure and up to nine airbags.

Thanks to the advanced safety features available across the range, Citroën’s models are some of the most highly rated by industry safety experts, EuroNCAP. The flagship executive C6, one of the safest cars on the road today, was the first model ever to achieve a maximum 5-star rating for both pedestrian safety and adult occupant protection. Alive with safety technology, the family-sized C4 also holds 5-stars for adult occupant protection and 4-stars for child occupant protection.
