Ssangyong News Round-Up

FLEET, UNITED KINGDOM – July 1, 2009: SsangYong is packing a punch this summer with a triple offer of five years’ 0% finance, five years’ free servicing and the now permanent five year warranty.
And now SsangYong is offering five year’s 0% finance on selected Kyron 2.7 SPR, Rexton 2.7 SPR and Rodius 270 S models, meaning a monthly payment as low as £125.
In each case, a deposit of 50 per cent is required, with remaining payments spread over five years. The deposit can include a part-exchange vehicle of course, and deals under the scrappage scheme are also welcome.
For example, a Rodius 270 S manual with an on the road price of £14,995, requires a deposit of £7,497.50 followed by monthly payments of only £124.96. A Kyron 2.7 SPR with metallic paint needs a deposit of £11,497.50 and monthly payments of just £191.63 (OTR price £22,495). Slap down a £12,747.50 deposit on a Rexton 2.7 SPR and pay only £212.46 a month (OTR price £24,995).
The new five year/250,000 mile warranty on all SsangYong passenger and LCV models has been a big hit with customers and dealers. In addition, a five year free service offer has also stimulated sales in recent months and has now been extended to the end of September, rather than ending on June 30.
With outstanding equipment levels, passenger space and huge towing ability, SsangYong offers great value, but customers can now accurately budget for very low cost motoring with peace of mind from a five year warranty, no surprise servicing costs for five years – and now low monthly payments with no interest.

SsangYong Bucks Sales Trend Again
For the second month in
succession, SsangYong bucked the downturn in the UK car market in May with
a sales increase over the same month last year.
According to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), 98 SsangYong passenger cars were registered last month – a 42 per cent increase over May last year. SsangYong was one of only eight makes to show a year-on-year increase in a market that declined by nearly 25 per cent.
In April, SsangYong also bettered the same month in 2008 by 2.6 per cent and was one of only six makes to record increases.
Any real impact of the scrappage scheme, which offers a £2,000 incentive to buyers of new cars who trade in old vehicles for scrap, has yet to translate into registrations, but SsangYong’s new five year/250,000 mile warranty and five years’ free servicing offer has stimulated considerable interest in Kyron, Rexton and Rodius models.
Ian Nicholson of SsangYong distributors Koelliker UK said: “These aren’t big volumes by any means, but to show any kind of increase in today’s market is something of an achievement and we are very pleased that we are making progress. This comes on the back of encouraging news from South Korea on SsangYong’s future and the introduction of our new five year warranty and free servicing offer. Our dealers now need to build on this and we will be helping them do that over the course of the summer.”
