Preh Supplies Electronic Remote Climate Control Module for 2010 Ford Taurus and Ford Flex

NOVI, Mich., June 30 -- Preh, a leading supplier of automotive driver controls, sensors and electronic control units, has been awarded contracts to develop and produce the new electronic climate control system for the 2010 MY Ford Taurus and Ford Flex.

The Preh system comprises an electronic control unit and dedicated software that will provide a comfortable in-cabin climate for the driver and passengers. The contracts follow another recent award by Ford for the remote climate control module on the 2010 MY Mustang.

Nick Lontscharitsch, senior vice president of sales at Preh, Inc. says, "Preh has more than two decades of experience with climate control systems and we now supply about four million climate controls worldwide every year.

These are developed either as complete systems with integrated electronics and climate control software, or as control units with electronics hardware but no visible parts in the car's interior," he adds. Lontscharitsch says that a new model that is starting to become more accepted integrates the climate controls with the radio and infotainment functions into a single "center stack" control system.

Both systems will be manufactured at Preh's production facility in Monterrey, Mexico, and will be delivered to Ford's Taurus assembly plant in Chicago and to the Flex assembly plant in Oakville, Canada.
